The Briar Club is your ideal destination for events of all types in the city of Houston. Located in the upscale River Oaks district of Houston, our sanctuary from the city is the perfect location for private functions, business meetings, parties, galas, or more unique events. In the refined glamor of our newly-renovated Clubhouse, featuring four elegant function rooms separated from Member activity, your guests will enjoy the highest standards of hospitality from our highly-trained staff.

Newly constructed in 2016, each event room boasts special character and charm to suit the purpose and mood of your event. Our event facilities comfortably accommodate groups of 10 to groups of 400, with spacious ceilings, fresh and modern furnishings, and comfortable hospitality areas outside each event room.

  • Magnolia Ballroom - Accommodates 80-400
    • The Club’s largest and most versatile banquet space, the Magnolia Ballroom seats up to 400 guests. The room can be easily divided into two or three smaller meeting spaces, each accommodating at least 80 guests. The space is beautifully adorned with custom chandeliers and modern art, and features an outdoor covered terrace with expansive views of the Club’s campus. The Magnolia Ballroom is also equipped with state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, and all the efficiencies to serve a beautiful wedding or special event.

      • Dimensions: 5,265 sq. ft. total; 1,945 sq. ft. Sides, 1, 375 sq. ft. Middle

      • Capacity: 400 guests

      • Features: AV - Magnified overhead music/audio, room controls, two large projectors with ceiling lifts, two large screens (retractable from ceiling).

  • The Azalea Room - Accommodates 90
    • A lovely interior room located on the second floor of the Clubhouse, separated from the Ballroom by a large pre-function space. With seating capacity of 90 guests, the Azalea Room is the perfect setting for a corporate meeting by day, and celebratory dinner by night.

      • Dimensions: 1,220 sq. ft.

      • Capacity: 90 guests

      • Features: AV - Overhead music/audio, room controls, one medium projector with ceiling lift, one medium screen (retractable from ceiling)

  • The President's Room - Accommodates 40
    • Located on the second floor of the Clubhouse facing Timmons Lane, the President’s Room will house portraits of Club Leaders past and present. With seating capacity of 40 people, the President’s Room is popular for small to medium business meetings, receptions, or private luncheons and dinners.

      • Dimensions: 715 sq. ft.

      • Capacity: 40 guests

      • Features: Overhead music/audio, room controls, one medium projector with ceiling lift, one medium screen (retractable from ceiling)

  • Pre-Reception Area
    • An beautiful, spacious open area for guests to mingle for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, located between the Magnolia Ballroom and the Azalea Room.

      • Dimensions: 1,035 sq. ft.
