As a Member-owned private club, use of The Briar Club is reserved exclusively for Briar Club Members and their guests.

We look forward to making your visit to The Briar Club an enjoyable one. Below, you will find some guidelines and courtesies to assist you in planning a comfortable visit.

  • Guest Policy
    • We encourage and welcome guests of Briar Club Members to our campus! Guests must be accompanied by their sponsoring Member at all times, and may be subject to a guest fee. Members are responsible for any charges incurred by their guests. We strongly recommend that Members call ahead to inform The Briar Club of their visiting guest, so that our staff members may be prepared for their arrival.
  • Dress Code
    • Members and guests shall be suitably attired for the social and fitness activities in which they are participating at the Club. Members are responsible for informing guests of the dress requirements. Club management has complete discretion to interpret and enforce dress codes in all areas of the Club, and Members should respect all requests or guidances provided by the General Manager.

      Inside the Clubhouse

      In general, the Club maintains a casual dress code in all of its Clubhouse (non-fitness) areas. Casual dress shall be construed as including slacks, dress jeans (without holes or excessively-worn areas), dress shorts, skirts and dresses, sleeved or collared shirts for men and boys, and shoes. No swimsuits or swim attire is permitted inside the Clubhouse. Children ten years of age and older are expected to adhere to the dress code. For certain Club functions and areas, including those listed below, an alternative dress code is specified in the announcement information for such function.

      The Lounge Dining & Lounge Bar

      Prior to 6:00 pm: Clean and neat casual attire is permitted, which excludes the following:

      1. For men: athletic attire, t-shirts, all caps, sleeveless or collarless shirts, and rubber flip-flop shoes.

      2. For women: athletic attire and rubber flip-flop shoes.

      Shorts are NOT permitted with the following two exceptions:

      1. Weekend Exception (Yearlong) - Bermuda style shorts are permitted in the Lounge Bar area on Saturdays and Sundays.

      2. Season Exception - From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Bermuda style shorts are permitted in the Lounge Bar area.

      At all times, denim attire with holes and excessively worn areas is prohibited.

      After 6:00 pm: Dressy casual attire is expected, which excludes the following:

      1. For men: athletic attire, all shorts, sleeveless or collarless shirts, all caps, and rubber flip-flops.

      2. For women: athletic attire, all shorts, all caps, and rubber flip-flops.

      At all times, denim attire with holes and excessively worn areas is prohibited.

      Family Grill

      Casual dress, including appropriate athletic wear, is permitted. Swim attire is prohibited. No sleeveless shirts or caps on men. Denim attire with holes and excessively worn areas is prohibited.

      Sunday Brunch

      Dressy-Casual attire is expected, which excludes the following:

      1. For men: athletic attire, all shorts, sleeveless or collarless shirts, all caps, and rubber flip-flops.

      2. For women: athletic attire, all shorts, all caps, and rubber flip-flops.

      At all times, denim attire with holes and excessively worn areas is prohibited.

      Fitness & Wellness Center

      Cutoffs, swimsuits, and denim shorts are not permitted to be worn while using fitness equipment.

  • Parking & Valet Service
    • The Briar Club provides convenient, complimentary parking in our parking garage on Timmons Street, directly across from our Clubhouse. If you are a guest, please proceed to the left entrance marked "Guest Entry", where our security guards will check you in and provide access to our parking garage.

      We are happy to provide complimentary valet service during dining hours for all Members and guests. To access the valet, please pull into the circle drive outside the Clubhouse, where a valet attendant will be waiting to greet you and park your vehicle.


  • Cellphone Usage
    • Inside the Clubhouse & Dining

      All cell phones should be silenced upon entering the Clubhouse. Discreet use of cell phones via text or email is permitted. All audible phone calls should be taken in the lobby, Library, or in an outdoor area other than the Veranda.

      Fitness & Wellness Center

      Please limit cell phone usage to lobby areas. The use of cell phones is strictly prohibited beyond the lobby areas of all locker rooms.

  • Smoking
    • The Briar Club is a completely non-smoking facility.
